Borrowing Materials
PSC students and employees may borrow materials using their Prairie State ID card as long as they register their ID with the circulation desk. Registration is good for two years, but ID cards must be kept current with a "punch" from the PSC Campus and Public Safety to check out materials.
Metropolitan Library System (MLS) patrons can borrow materials from the PSC library with their public library card as long as they are in good standing with their home library.
In-district tax payers that do not have a public library card may apply for a "PSC local use only" library card with a valid property tax statement.
Please call the PSC library at (708) 709-3552 if you have any questions about your borrowing privileges.

Renewals
The PSC Library can assist you with your renewals in person or over the phone as long as you have your library card with you. You can renew all of your items online at http://swan.mls.lib.il.us. Click on "My Account" on the right side of the screen to access/set up your account.
Reserves, AV, and Magazines
Reserve materials can only be accessed by PSC ID holders. You must be a PSC student or employee to check out reserve materials. These materials check out for two hours and cannot be removed from the library. Items labeled "extended reserves" may be checked out for three days and are not renewable.
All materials behind the circulation desk (AV, magazines) must be checked out to a valid library card to be accessed. To use these items in the library, you must check these materials out as well. They may be taken out of the library on a seven-day loan period, with no renewals.
